Little Purses

Here are two little purses I made based on the pattern given in the link below. They are a good way to use up scrap fabric and extra buttons. I'll probably use them as a 'giveaway' for the kids who come into the office. They are the perfect size for a little girl.

Apron

I decided I needed a new apron, since most of mine are up in the attic. Some relate to holidays and some to seasons that are not 'winter.' Here it is, in the works. Most of it is done and I should have it finished tomorrow. It's just a simple rectangle one, nothing fancy.

Finally!

I finally finished the snowflake quilt! I feel as if I've been working on it for years, but I think it took me about a year of working on and off. It isn't exactly like the original (from an issue of Crochet Today magazine) but I like it. I already showed the almost-finished version to Katherine, who really liked it. Since she doesn't have a lot of room in her apartment, I'll probably store this until next winter. It does seem that spring is just around the corner.

An idea

I was cutting out the skirt of a dress I'm making and I realized the 'angled' side of the skirt is actually on the bias. So...I took that extra piece and cut along the slanted edge to make bias tape! At first I only cut an inch wide, but then I realized that will only give me a 1/4 inch of trim (allowing for the foldovers), so I cut the rest at 2", which will give me a half inch trim.
And easy way to make some bias tape and a 'use up and make do' idea!

Drawing of my pup

I got this book about how to draw animals and did up this picture of Shadow Dante. Drawing and sketching is something I get in the mood to do every once in a while. I have this hanging on my fridge now.
It actually does look a bit like him!

An Easy Valentine Craft

The "vase" is a Crystal Light container covered with pink felt. The heart is painted with Martha Stewart Glitter paint. You can find patterns for crocheted hearts all over the 'net.' I also cut some hearts from felt painted with glitter paint. The stems are stuck into a piece of Styrofoam.
This is on top of a hutch now, but if I were to put it someplace where you could see both the front and the back, I'd make doubles of the crocheted hearts and sandwich the stems between them. These are just 'sewn' in place.
