Here is a baby hat I am almost finished with--just have to weave in some ends. It is part of a set featured in the August 2008 of "Crochet World."
I'm making the whole set. I have 2 rows done on the afghan, and most of the jacket done. There will also be booties for it.
I have to say that I find following directions for jackets difficult. The neckline of the one I made looks nothing like the picture. I hope that it will turn out 'wearable.'
Not that there are any babies due soon! But you know I like having some things 'ready to go.' This will fit a 3-6 month old. It is only taking 2 balls of yarn, which is nice!
The little hat is a quick project that could easily be finished in a sitting or two if you are ambitious.
That little hat is adorable. I'll have to see if I can find a copy of that magazine. I love making baby items for the food pantry silent auction.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say that I can never get the necklines on crocheted jackets to look right. I do fine with hats and afghans but the jacket/sweaters give me a hard time.
ReplyDeletePretty little hat, I never really took to crochet until recently but I'm amazed how quickly a project can be made........much quicker than knitting.

That is so cute; can't wait to see the finished set. I have been saying forever that I should make up a boy and a girl baby set to have on hand. I never have managed to do that, and I seem to give everyone their gifts six months later than I should. Right now I have 3 baby boy sets in the hopper. I need everyone to stop having babies until I catch up (like that's gonna happen ;o)
